Did you already try to power on the VM?

Regarding your setup. It's hard to give you an advice without knowing the exact requirements. I'd probably look more into 2 powerful hosts with multiple CPUs and more memory though.

André

I just powered on the VM and it says "Feature vsmp not licensed, requires 24 have 8". Looks like you can create the VM with 24 vCPUs in free edition but won't turn on.

Regarding the setup, currently someone else is hosting the 1 x sql and 3 x terminal servers for us. We are renting the VMs.

Current rental production server specs

1 x sql:

-Intel Xeon E5540 2.53Ghz 4 vCPUs, 32GB memory

-SQL is only using 16GB of memory. We limited it to 16GB in SQL. Windows OS has 16GB of free memory.

terminal server 1:

-Intel Xeon x5650 2.67Ghz 4 vCPUs, 16GB memory

terminal server 2:

-Intel Xeon x5650 2.67Ghz 2 vCPUs, 16GB memory

terminal server 3:

-Intel Xeon x5620 2.40Ghz 4 vCPUs, 16GB memory

If I get 3 x new esxi 5 free servers with the same or better specs then what we currently have, will we be good?
