You didn't answer my question, "Did you look int the BIOS to see if VT-x is even available and if so disabled and enable it?"!
Sorry but I cannot waste my time with "I think" type responses however the i5-2500 CPU does support Intel Virtualization Technology (VT-x), so look in the BIOS and see if it can be enabled. Also if it can then after enabling it you'll probably need to cold boot the system for it to take effect.
